The Band

Jill Schoonjans

 Backing  Vocals

Jill's experience includes  touring Germany  with a Pink Floyd tribute show, and backing singer for Joe Longthorne on UK tours, summer seasons and recording projects since 2004 . She has also performed on cruise ships, in function bands, rock bands, Abba tribute shows and children's theatre productions!  Jill fronts 'The Well Swung Big Band Project' and has even performed with the Halle Orchestra. Along with Fiona Ford she adds that authentic and soulful 'Sweet Inspirations'  vocal style  to Lee Memphis King's performances.

Fiona Ford

Backing Vocals

Fiona started out with Pink Floyd tribute “Pulse” with whom she toured the UK and Switzerland. She has also toured extensively in Germany. Fiona has guested on film soundtracks for the composer Rob Gould, for which she gained recognition by the Classic Rock Society. She has provided backing vocals for Joe Longthorne including a show at The London Palladium. Fiona has fronted several rock, folk-rock and soul bands and writes her own material. She shares the responsibilities with Jill in backing Lee and adding the gospel feel to parts of his show.

Matt Platt

Keyboards

Matt started learning the Cello at the age of seven, inspired by his mother Gillian. Since obtaining a music degree in 1985, Matt has been fortunate enough to enjoy a full and varied life as a musician, having played with artists from Supergrass to country legend  Albert Lee and blues maestro Bernie Marsden (of Whitesnake fame). He is equally at home with rock ' n' roll boogie piano as heard in early Elvis recordings or adding sophisticated keyboard sounds to the Vegas Presley style arrangements

Steve Vellacott

Lead Guitar

Steve is an in demand session player known for his country and jazz styles. He studied with renowned jazz guitarist Mark Wingfield, and has many years of studio, stage and radio experience. Steve adds the early years' guitar sounds of Scotty Moore, and James Burton's - 'The Telecaster King' finger picking guitar style essential to many of Elvis's later arrangements

Phil Gregory

Rhythm Guitar

Phil is a multi-instrumentalist and a published songwriter and composer. He has written for the likes of Atomic Kitten and Daniel Ryan and also co-owns Jellymould Music Productions, writing for film, TV and theatre. He has performed with artists including Kiki Dee, Jackie Graham, Gwen Dickey (Rose Royce), China Black and Viola Wills. He is also lead vocalist with the band 'Hallé Rock’.

Robin Shaw

Bass

Robin  Shaw was a founder member of 70's band The Flower Pot Men and subsequently with the chart topping  White Plains  and he played with  Roger Hills in that band which had no less than 5 UK top 20 singles and two in the USA.  Rob co-wrote much of their material and is a huge talent. He provides the foundation of the Lee Memphis King rhythm section and doubles on additional backing  vocals.

Roger Hills

Drums

Roger Hills also was a founder member of The Flowerpot Men and White Plains and so you can see the association between him and Robin Shaw  (see above) goes back almost 40 years!  Whether playing DJ Fontana style from Elvis's early recordings or the powerhouse Ronnie Tutt style from Elvis's 70's band,  Roger provides the heartbeat of the rhythm section and  adds to the accuracy of the stunning recreation of Elvis's music that Lee portrays. Roger normally plays on a Ronnie Tutt Style Blue Sparkle Ludwig Drum Set.

The Brass Monkeys

Led by Manchester trombonist/ arranger Joe Stevenson, The Brass  Monkeys are all session musicians with a high pedigree,  having played with some of the UK's finest bands and artists. They add the punch and drama to Lee Memphis King's performances at larger venues in the style of Elvis's  own horn section.
