A warm hello to all fans of Elvis Presley and Elvis impersonators and Elvis tribute artists.
I am often asked how and why I became an Elvis Presley tribute artist so I hope this answers the question. The truth is that it was not a conscious decision of mine to become an Elvis tribute but one which started as early as I can remember, maybe as early as five years old. After watching an Elvis film 'Roustabout' I was hooked as a fan from that point on. I loved
his voice and his music. I found that I could imitate voices from a very early age and it became an obsession of mine to perfect the voice of Elvis which has stayed with me to this day.
To me Elvis was the greatest performer and vocalist of the last century and I constantly strive for perfection when I sing and perform. It is of the greatest importance to me that I sing with the same excitement and passion as Elvis did. It is not enough for me to just try to perfect the voice and this is one of the most important things I hope Elvis fans understand.
I am a huge fan of Elvis and his music and my tribute is done with the utmost respect for the man. When I hear Elvis sing I can feel what he sings and I work at projecting this emotion into my performances. It angers and frustrates me when I hear and see so called Elvis tributes making a joke out of Elvis's voice and appearance. I believe if a singer can't sing or doesn't work at perfecting his art then they should not do it at all.
I continually work to perfect what I do as well as trying to understand how Elvis was feeling when he sang the song in order to project this to the audience.
I am currently touring the major theatres of the UK and it is my overriding desire for people to leave the theatre and know that they have heard a person who loves and respects the music and the man. It's only when I achieve this, and I can only gauge it from the feedback that I get, that I feel fulfilled in what I do.
I would like to thank all of you who have taken the time to write to me with your kind words - they mean a heck of a lot to me and I hope to see you at future shows. Lastly thanks to all those who have taken the time to come to my concerts - I can't achieve anything
without you.
